
Racine- Helen N. (nee: Rasmus) Lindmark, 89, passed away peacefully and was born into eternal life with Jesus on Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center.
She was born on May 1, 1922 in Eau Claire, WI to Oscar and Gudrun (nee: Thompson) Rasmus.
Helen was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She spent her early years raising her family in La Crosse and volunteered at the Gundersen Lutheran Gift Shop. She subsequently moved to Milwaukee, Crivitz and then Racine. She was an active golfer. Her other interests included gardening, knitting, sewing, playing bridge, cribbage, snowmobiling and boating. She was a lady of quiet strength and strong faith.
Helen is survived by her husband of 71 years, Robert Lindmark ; five children, Schaarie (Sam) Di Antoni of Centerville, MA; Pam (Tedd) Welch of LaCrosse, WI; Bob (Chris) Lindmark of Crivitz, WI; Debbie (Vicente) Castellanos of Oak Creek, WI; and Bill (Pat) Lindmark of Green Bay, WI. Helen is also survived by brother-in-law, Richard Lindmark and sister-in-law, Cleo Rasmus; 13 grandchildren; 27 great- grandchildren; 3 great-great -grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Gudrun and Oscar Rasmus; sisters, Mary Thacker, Beverly Triplett and JoAnne Mersdorf; brothers, Don Rasmus and Loren Rasmus; sister-in-law, Pat Lindmark; brothers-in-law, James Thacker, Wasiel Triplett and Robert Mersdorf; nieces, Merilane Thacker (Ken) Johnson and Martha Triplett (Jan) Carpenter.
Following cremation, services to be held on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 10:30 am in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Rd., Mount Pleasant, WI 53403, with Rev. Dr. Warren D. Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Cemetery in Union Grove, WI. A luncheon will follow to continue celebrating Helen’s life. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 – 10:30 am. Memorials to St. Monica’s Senior Citizen’s Home and Wheaton Franciscan Home Health & Hospice.
