Ross A. Sheridan

Aug 26, 1958 – Jan 6, 2012

Ross Sheridan, 53, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 6, 2011. He was born in Racine on August 26, 1958, the son of the late Walter and Gertrude (nee: Drews) Sheridan.

On May 9, 1981, at Grace Lutheran Church in Racine, he was united in marriage to the former Jennie Thompson. Ross had been employed by Unico Inc. for the past 14 years. He was a Lifetime Member of the E.A.A. and owned and flew his own airplane. Ross was also an avid watch collector.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Jennie; their children, Amanda Sheridan, Abigail Meyer, both of Sturtevant, and Dustin (Nyssa) Sheridan, of Stoughton, WI; loving grandchildren, Amy Vasquez and Ashton Meyer; and sister, Nadine (Dave) Geraldson, of La Crosse. Other relatives and friends further survive him. In addition to his parents, Ross was preceded in death by his sister, Jessica Sheridan.

His Memorial Service will be celebrated in Christ United Methodist Church-United Methodist, 5109 Washington Ave., on Wednesday, January 11th, at 1:00 p.m., with his pastor Rev. Dave Nelson officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family, and they will establish a suitable memorial at a later date.

Dear family of Ross, my husband Dan and myself have been long time co-workers with Ross and he and I shared several talks about his love for his family and his memorable travels with Jennie. He adorded each and everyone of you. He was a great asset to Unico. Ross will be missed by all his co-workers, but I myself will cherish our talks of travel, camping and his plane.
With deep sympathy and sorrow in your loss Joyce and Dan Malko

I am an engineer at Unico. While I didn`t work with Ross that much day to day, I learned more about him at the company Christmas parties and picnics, particularly his interest in aviation. I enjoyed listening to him talk about planes and the EAA. I would tell my father and brother about Ross, as they are into aviation, too (my brother became a private pilot 2 years ago… I`m not quite that interested though). Ross just told me about his biplane project, and his search for an engine. I was looking forward to hearing him talk more about his progress on building this biplane. I am very sorry to hear about Ross`s passing and wish his family my condolences.

Dear Sheridan Family, I want to express my condolences from the Schmidt family. I had the honor and privilege of working with Ross at Unico for the past 14 years. He and I had some good times in the field supporting the Oil and Gas industry. We at Unico, as well as the many lives he touched around the world, will all miss his talents, especially making us all smile. He always had a great sense of humor and was quick with a witty response. Ross was a proud person that constantly expressed his love and admiration for his family.

I met Ross at EAA 2010 while he was marooned at the K-mart campground. It was campers like Ross with his humor and spirit of good will that made the experience a great one. It will not be quite as sunny without him this year but the love of aviation he instilled in those he met will live on. Jennie and Ashton, my deepest condolences.

I will always remember Ross’ sense of humor and keen wit. He was always up for wordplay or banter. I will miss his sparring with me to see who could come up with the worst puns. My deepest condolensces to the Sheridan family.

We mourn our colleague Ross Sheridan who came to our office so often and helped us so much learning about the UNICO drives. He had been guest in my home and my whole family and me want to express our condolences. Hard to believe not meeting Ross at UNICO anymore.

Thank you so much for your staff’s gentle, patient, and thorough management of my nephew’s memorial service yesterday. It was run to perfection, and we couldn’t be more pleased. From the beautiful slide show transitions to the quality audio system to the easels, pedestals and Kringle…all details were impeccable and appreciated.
