Dorothy K. Krause

Jan 16, 1927 – Jan 25, 2012

     Dorothy K. Krause, 85, passed away in WFH-All Saints on Wednesday, January 25, 2012. She was born in Racine on January 16, 1927, the daughter of the late Edward B. and Anna (nee: Smader) Gill.

    For nearly 20 years Dorothy cooked for the students of Racine Unified, mostly at Washington Park High School. She was also a dedicated worker at the voting poles, since the early 1960s. She also was employed by Buddy Squirrel at Regency Mall Dorothy was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church, the St. Richard’s Senior Club, and a former member of the St. Mary’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards at the Dr. John Bryant Community Center with her friends.

     Surviving are her daughters, Susan (Michael) Klett, and Margaret (Kenneth) Kaprelian, all of Racine; 2 grandsons, David Klett, of Belgium, WI, and Steven Klett, of Madison, WI; and special neighbors, Walter and Laura Johnson. Her nieces, nephews, godchildren, other relatives and friends further survive her. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her baby daughter, Katherine Krause, and brother, Gerald Gill.

     Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in St. Richard Catholic Church, 1509 Grand Ave., on Saturday, January 28th with Rev. Ronald Gramza officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the mass. A private burial service will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery Hwy 32. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to have memorials sent to the Vince Lombardi Charitable Funds- Racine Campus.  

      The Family wouldlike to publicly thank Drs. Mullane and Nicholson, and their staffs, the staff of 2D at All Saints and the Wheaton Franciscan   Hospice, the D.A.R.T. Bus and all the family and friends that helped Dorothy and her family throughout her illness.
