Diane T. Pawelski

Jan 5, 1943 – Jan 25, 2012

Racine-  Diane T. (nee: Foote) Pawelski, 69,  passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee as the result of a stroke.

A lifetime resident, Diane was born in Racine on January 5, 1943 to the late Albert and Marion (nee: Arneson) Foote. She graduated from Washington Park High School in 1961. On August 13, 1966, Diane was united in marriage with the love of her life, George T. Pawelski.

With a devoted work ethic, Diane was employed for nearly 50 years as a waitress at Dino’s Italian Village Restaurant on 16th Street, working as recent as this past Sunday. Always placing the needs of others before her own, Diane dedicated her life to caring for her cherished family and treasured animals.

Surviving are her loving husband, George; their daughters, Daari Pawelski and Denise Pawelski; grandchildren, Samantha and Maxwell Tussler, all of Racine; sisters, Beverly Foote, Judy Collova, Barbara Trucker and Beatrice Benke; sister-in-law, Sr. Mary Maura; faithful canine companions, Boo and E.J.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including the many customers she enjoyed serving throughout the years at Dino’s.

A Memorial Service celebrating Diane’s life will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at 2:00 pm in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, with Rev. John Fleming officiating. A reception will follow. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday from 12 noon – 2 pm. In memory of Diane, memorials to ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) have been suggested.

Testimonials

Thank you from Raymond Szymanski Family

I would like to thank Mike Langendorf, Bill Althaus and the rest of the staff for the wonderful celebration of the life for my father Raymond L. Szymanski who was a WWII veteran. I especially appreciate how much you really listen and the questions you asked regarding who my father was and what he was all about. Those details showed up in every part of the service from the flowers, the music, the thank you’s, pictures, obituary, outdoor military honors, etc. etc. My father would have been so grateful for the way you honored his life. I also received phone calls from family and friends indicating how beautiful the service was in every way. You and your staff definitely go above and beyond. You treat everyone like family and your compassion is so genuine. There should be more people in the world just like all of you. No words can express our gratitude for all you have done for myself, my father and our family. Thank you so very much and may the Lord bless you and yours! Sincerely Terri Carls and the Szymanski Family
