Margaret J. Lessnau

Jun 13, 1926 – Feb 3, 2012

Margaret J. Lessnau, 85, was surrounded by her family when she passed away peacefully, in the Hospice House, in Pleasant Prairie, on Friday, February 3, 2012.  Margaret was born in Racine on June 13, 1926 the daughter of the late John and Ida (nee: Fuller) Siebert.

Margaret enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.  Her garden was truly a thing of beauty enjoyed by all!  Although Margaret was not a world-renowned chef, we all loved her baked spaghetti (or “cheesy skettie” as her grandchildren called it)!  She truly treasured the time she spent with family and friends.

Surviving are her children, Sharon Mallo, Thomas (Laura) Lessnau, , Randall (Judy) Lessnau, Nancy (Terry) Pedersen, Barbara (Jeff) Schmidt, all of Racine,  Kenneth Lessnau, of Oxford, WI of; 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and her brother, Thomas Siebert, of Racine. Her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive her. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband James Lessnau in September of 2001.

Everyone is invited to come and meet with the family, in the funeral home on Sunday, February 12th from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. to share stories about Margaret and celebrate her life. If you care to make a memorial contribution in Margaret’s name, the family has suggested the Senior Companion Program, 5635 Erie St., Racine, WI 53402.

If you want to be happy all your life, plant a garden.

The family would like to thank Harmony of Racine for the wonderful care Margaret received and to Hospice Alliance for making her journey peaceful.
