
Racine – Josephine P. Tennyck, 98, passed away at WFH-All Saints Hospital on Wednesday, February 08, 2012. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 11, 1913, daughter of the late Sylvester and Anna (nee: Jacobowski) Runis.
Josephine lived in Racine for most of her life, and worked at Webster Electric for more than 32 years, retiring in 1975. She was very proud of her daughters, and had great affection for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an independent lady; self-sufficient, and chose her friends wisely. She enjoyed entertaining friends and family, was an excellent cook and everyone loved going to Josie’s for dinner.
She is survived by her daughters, Betty Miskinis of Racine, and Patricia (Robert) Slaback of Lacrosse; grandchildren Tim (Jamie) Miskinis of Onalaska, Fred (Peg Drake) Hengst , and Andrew (Geri) Hengst both of Lacrosse, and Kathy (David) Wedlake of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; great-grandchildren Rachal Miskinis, Ashley Wedlake, Abby Wedlake, Molly Wedlake, and Johanna Miskinis; brother Edward Runis on Boston, Massachusetts; and step-children John (Carol) Tennyck of Racine, and JoAnn (Jim) Pouliot of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years, Peter Tennyck in 1995; and her first husband Arthur James.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel at St. Monica’s Senior Citizens Home (3920 N. Green Bay Road) at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 13, 2012. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Josephine will be interred at West Lawn Memorial Park following the service. Memorial donations to at St. Monica’s Senior Citizens Home have been suggested.
