Mary Ann Borowski

Jan 24, 1914 – Feb 9, 2012

     Mary A. Borowski, 98, passed away at Lakeview Hospice’s The Gathering in Oak Park Heights, MN. She was born in Racine on January 24, 1914, the daughter of the late John and Carmella (nee: Recupero) Palatino.

     Mrs. Borowski lived most of her life in Racine until moving to Minnesota in 2002 to live with her daughter and son-in-law. On July 4, 1946, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, here in Racine, she was united in marriage to Walter L. Borowski, who preceded her in death on August 15, 1992. She had been employed by Eitel’s for nearly 25 years. While living in Racine she was a member St. Stanislaus, St. Edward’s, and St. Lucy’s churches. In Shoreview, MN, she was a member of St. Odilia’s Catholic Church, and in River Falls, WI, she was a member of St. Bridget’s Catholic Church.    Surviving are her children, Judith (Warren) Vollmar, of Hudson, WI, and Walter (Sandra) Borowski, of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Kathleen,  Alison, and Wil Borowski, all  of Madison, WI, Kent Vollmar, of Madison, WI,  Keith Vollmar, of White Bear, MN; nieces, Barbara Deering, and Patty Levandowski, both of Racine, Marion Simpson, of Elgin, IL, Kathy Cuccia and Angela (Harold) Ragland, both of Mesa, AZ, and Chuck Palatino, of Mukwonago, WI. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Borowski was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Borowski , brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Nancie Palatino, and sisters and brother-in-law , Ann and Tony Cuccia, Carolyn and Catherine Palatino.

     Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., on Thursday, February 16, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Visitation will be in church on the day, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery Hwy 32.
