Elizabeth Sophia Shick

Oct 12, 1926 – Feb 9, 2012

Racine – Elizabeth S. (nee: Brack) Shick, 85, entered into eternal life on Thursday, February 9, 2012.  She was born in Kenosha County on October 12, 1926, daughter of the late Phillip and Elizabeth (nee: Ertel) Brack, Sr.  She was United in Marriage to Phil Shick who preceded her in death.

Elizabeth graduated from Union Grove High School in 1926.  She was employed as a bank teller in Kenosha until her retirement.  Elizabeth was an active member of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Racine.  She enjoyed a ritual of having breakfast with the girls on Mondays.  Elizabeth volunteered for many years as a poll worker during elections.

Elizabeth is survived by eight siblings, Lydia (Herbert) Bower, Lucile Brewer, Dorothy Lubecke, Hildagarde (Jim) Christiansen, Evelyn Lesser, Clara (Cliff) Schoedl, Elsie Hintz, John (Carol) Brack; nieces, nephews, and other relatives too numerous to mention.  In addition to her parents and husband, Elizabeth is preceded in death by seven siblings.

A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will take place on Monday, February 13, 2012, 11am, at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 2417 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Susan Ruehle officiating.  Visitation will be from 10am until the time of the service.  Private entombment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park.  The family has suggested memorials to Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.

    To Betty’s family,
I’m really going to miss her on our trips, with Mary Ann and Martha. We had lots of fun and seen some great things. She was my dance partner when there was music.
