
Sandra Rae Goudreau, 69, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 12, 2012, in Jackson South Hospital in South Miami. She was born in Racine on October 19, 1942, the daughter of Raymond and the late June (nee: Olson) DeGroot.
Prior to being employed by the Racine County, Department of Social Services for over 20 years, Sandi pursued a successful career in modeling. After later retiring in 1998, she moved to the Miami area to adhere yet another lifelong goal of sun soaking poolside each and every day. Living an extraordinary life, Sandi was best known for her Coca-Cola cravings, love for high heels, and uncanny ability to care for others. Sandra, and her uplifting spirits, remained a die-hard Chicago Bear fan until her dying day.
Surviving are her loving children, Jill Goudreau, Juli (Montgomery) Dunbar, both of Miami, FL, Michael (Amy) Goudreau, of Sacramento, CA; grandchildren, Alexandria R. Goudreau, Alexia R. Dunbar, and Alexander M. Dunbar, all of Miami, FL, Mychael Goudreau, Miles Goudreau, and Mason Goudreau, all of Sacramento, CA; father and step-mother, Raymond and Rosemary DeGroot, of Racine, WI; sisters, Susan (Daniel) Duchesneau, of Franklin, WI, Pamm (Philip) Licina, of Naperville, IL; brother, Michael (Kari) DeGroot, of De Forest, W, step-brothers, LeRoy (Kris) Lynn, of Knoxville, TN, Jeffrey Lynn, and James (Tammi) Lynn, all of Racine, stepsister, Colleen Batterman, also of Racine. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive her. In keeping with Sandi’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
There will be a memorial service held in funeral home on Saturday, February 25th at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Relatives and friends can meet with the family, in the funeral home on Saturday, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. There will also be a memorial service held in Miami on April 6th.In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to St. Lucy Catholic Church.
