
Racine – Henry G. Hernandez, Sr., 67, passed away at WFH All Saints Hospital on Tuesday, February 14, 2012. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 25, 1944, son the Jose and Frances (nee: Gomez) Hernandez. Most of his life, he was a Racine/Kenosha area resident.
Henry worked at JI Case as a Core Setter for 35 years until retiring in 1989. More than anything, he loved his family. His grandchildren were very special to him, and he loved teaching scripture to them. He also found great pleasure in singing for family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Belia Hernandez; his children Eloisa “Mika” (Esreal Tanguma, Jr.) Hernandez, Joey Hernandez, Diana (Luis) Martinez, and Adelaida (Reynaldo) Arias; 19 grandchildren: Joey, Nina, Nathan, Reynaldo, Sergio, Viviana, Rodney, Presley, Veronica, Faustino, Luis, Francisca, Maria, Alberto, Jesse, Arnoldo, Martha, Mario, Michael, and Xavier; 12 great-grandchildren: Armondo, Sergio, Alaynah, Ayianna, Nadia, Esteban, Emilio, Eduardo, Sabrina, Leslie, Jose, and Marisol; brother Sam (Angie) Hernandez all of Racine; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Henry Hernandez, Jr., great-grandson Rodney Agustin, Jr., and brother Jose Hernandez.
Visitation begins at 5:00 pm on Friday, February 17, 2012 and continues through Saturday morning, February 18, 2012, until time of service. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, and at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both services will be held at the Racine Family Worship Center (1846 Mead Street) with Rev. Lupe Torres officiating. Burial will take place at St. George Cemetery in Kenosha following Saturday’s service.
