Racine – Patricia Ann (nee: Gunn) James, 51, received the promise of eternal life on Friday, February 17, 2012.  She was born in Racine on April 22, 1960, daughter of the late Robert Patten, Sr. and the late Claudine Gunn.

Patricia was employed by Racine County for many years and the Child Harbor Learning Center for 15 years until her illness in December 2009.  Patricia was a compassionate and devoted woman of God, loving mother, grandmother, sister, “TT” (aunt), and special friend.

Patricia leaves to cherish her memories, her two daughters, Lakisha James, Crystal James; five grandchildren, Avontae and Adarion Dawson, Elijah Owens, Serenity James, Anthony Moten, all of Racine; sisters, Mary Gunn, Patricia Patten, Michelle Pitt, Robin Pitt, Leslie Pitt, Francis Williams; brothers, Terry (Selethia) Gunn, Anthony (Judy) Mundy, Raymond (Beverly) Patton, Darrel Wayne, Terry Dean Patten, Robert Eugene Patten, Jr.; aunts, Earline Larry of Racine, Denise Larry-Lampkin of Milwaukee, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives too numerous to mention.  In addition to her parents, Patricia is preceded in death by her husband and special friend, Lee C. James.

A homegoing service for Patricia will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, 11am, at Greater Grace Temple C.O.G.I.C., 522 N. Memorial Drive, with Rev. William Thompkins officiating.  Visitation will be in the church from 10am until the time of the service.  Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.

The James-Gunn family would like to thank the staff at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints, Wheaton Franciscan Hospice, Dr. Mullane, and his staff for the love, care, and compassion that they gave to Patricia during her time of illness.
