Anthony McIntosh

May 16, 1958 – Feb 18, 2012

 

   Anthony McIntosh passed away at home, with his family by his side, after a long battle with cancer on Saturday, February 18, 2012.

   He was born in Chicago on May 16, 1958, the son of Earl Mosley, Sr. and the late Grace (nee: Campbell) Barlow.  He graduated from William Horlick High School in 1976.  On May 17, 1998, he married Laurie Jean Coleman. 

   Tony was employed as a production worker at SC Johnson until his illness in 2004.  As a baptized Christian, Tony worshiped at Greater Mount Eagle Missionary Baptist Church.   He enjoyed being with his family and socializing with friends.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

   In addition to his loving wife Laurie, he is survived by his children, Garland (Jennifer) McIntosh, Tenika (Naurice) Jones, Shalonda (Jimmie) Mathews, Terrell Norris, Antwain McIntosh, Donta Reynolds and Dawon McIntosh; step-children, Tifinie, Tyra and Travell Coleman; grandchildren, Karissa,  Cardavion, Nauresha, Naurice Jr., Quantrale, Enrelle,  Janyah,  A’zha, Terellus; step-grandchildren, Avyonna and Travell, Jr.; father, Earl Mosley, Jr.; siblings, Carolyn Willis, LeRoy Willis, Percy Johnson, Wayne Barlow, David (KaMesha) Barlow, Estelle (Tavian) Barlow-Carr, Earl Jr., Eric, Loria Mosley, Denson Joseph; grandmothers, Louise Staten-Taylor and Mary Fitch; mother-in-law, Pinkie Smith; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Bernard Smith, Lavern (Julia) Stewart, Ricky (Melissa) Smith, Jeffrey Coleman, Daisy (Mike) Turner, Zena Coleman, Renee, Roena, Leatrice, Beatrice and Brenda, Lee (Karen) Smith; aunt, Barbara Thomas and Uncle, Beverly (Arletha) Coleman; godchildren, LeRoy Willis III, Vernon Thomas III and Aniyah Scott; many nieces and nephews and lifelong friend, Billy Simpson.  In addition to his mother, Grace Barlow, Tony was preceded in death by his uncles, Wilbert Campbell, Kenneth Staten and his father-in-law, Lee Smith.

   Family and friends are invited to meet at Greater Mount Eagle Missionary Baptist Church (929 State St.) on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. for the celebration of Tony’s life and Home going with Rev. Keith T. Evans officiating.  His interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery.  There will be a visitation in the church on Friday from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m.     

   A very special thank you to his Doctors Odders, Taylor, and Engel, and the entire staff at the WFH Healthcare Cancer Center and Allay Home & Hospice for the loving and professional attention Tony received while under their care. May God Bless you
