
Mr. John L. Fornal, Sr., 70, passed away in Ajo, AZ on Tuesday, February 28, 2012.
John was born in Racine on May 21, 1941 to the late Edwin and Evelyn (nee: Christensen) Fornal.
He retired as a deputy with the Racine County Sheriff’s Department after 23 years of service.
John loved northern Wisconsin. He moved to Rib Lake after his retirement so he could spend his time fishing and enjoying the north woods. The past few years he has traveled to Arizona as a snowbird during the winter months.
He is survived by his son, John (Danielle) Fornal, Jr. of Waukesha; his daughter, Suzette (Terry Brown) Kumba of Burlington; his grandchildren, Samantha, Shannon, Dustyn, Jordyn and Summer; his sisters and brothers, Edwina (Leslie) Brown of Sturtevant, Robert Fornal of Mississippi, Elizabeth (Edward) Jensen of Racine, Christine (Dennis) Doss of Mississippi; his dear great nephew, Cameron; as well as step grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends and former co-workers with the Sheriff’s Department. He was also preceded in death by his loving companion, Carol Williams.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. for the celebration of John’s life and funeral service with Rev. Dr. Stephen D. Samuelson officiating. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 5-7 p.m. His interment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake on Thursday.
