Racine– Warren W. Langlois, 91, passed away peacefully at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Thursday, March 15, 2012 surrounded with the love of his family.
A lifetime resident, Warren was born in Racine on March 4, 1921, to the late William and Marie (nee: Iverson) Langlois. He graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1939”, where he met the love of his life, Marjorie “Margie” Whitley. As high school sweethearts and as their love grew stronger, Warren and Margie were married in Atonement Lutheran Church on June 6, 1942.
A member of the Modine 20 Year Club, Warren was employed by Modine Mfg. as a laboratory technician for nearly 40 years, retiring in 1986. With a profound Christian faith, Warren was a lifelong member of Atonement Lutheran Church from where he was baptized, confirmed and married. As his grandparents were founding members of Atonement, Warren proudly served at church in various capacities such as an usher, council member, counting committee, Sunday school teacher and confirmation mentor. He was also a charter member of Atonement’s YoMarco. He was a member of the Racine Historical Society and a Cub Master for the Boy Scouts for several years. As an extreme circus buff, Warren was a member of the Circus Fans of America, Circus Historical Society, Circus Model Builders Club and was the last surviving member of the Dan Castello Circus Tent. Years ago, he and Margie were also members of the Circle 8 Square Dancers. As worldwide travelers, Warren and Margie loved the countless trips they took together over the years. He was an avid sports fan, especially fond of the Green Bay Packers. Above all, Warren was an outstanding husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa who cherished the times together with his entire family.
Surviving are his beloved wife of nearly 70 years, Margie; their children, Patty (Jerry) Alton, Penny Matson, Tom (Cindy) Langlois, Terry Ann Simon and Warren R. (Karin) Langlois; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Michael Simon; Margie’s parents, Thomas and Loris (nee: Pomeroy) Whitley; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Richards and Barbara Ann Dummer.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 10 am in Atonement Lutheran Church, 2915 Wright Avenue, with Rev. Dr. Warren D. Williams officiating. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 pm and in the church on Friday from 9-10 am. Memorials to Atonement Lutheran Church have been suggested.

To the Langlois Families,
It Is sad to see Mr. Langlois (as of course I knew him) has passed. It Is especially nice to see he and Mrs. Langlois enjoyed so many wonderful years and times together. I can still see Mrs. at Snyder’s 5 & 10 and Mr. walking Taylor Ave. at his usual speedy pace. I have fond memories of both Mr. and Mrs. Langlois. Tom and Warren, we went to both Mitchell, and Park together, and after all of these years, I am not certain you will remember. It was a wonderful neighborhood, with great schools, fun, and everybody knew everybody else. The 21st st, Taylor, Grange, Arlington areas were all like a little town. Very fond memories of all who lived In the area. Mrs. Langlois, I hope you have much time left to enjoy your children, grandchildren, and all. God Bless all of you.
