
Mr. John R. Davies, 57, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Friday, March 23, 2012.
He was born in Racine on April 7, 1954, the son of Robert and Jeanne (nee: Kern) Davies. He graduated from J. I. Case High School in 1972, and earned a degree in horticulture from Gateway Technical Institute. He worked in grounds maintenance at Ruud Lighting for 25 years.
John enjoyed having his pilot’s license and flying his plane, traveling to northern Wisconsin and being in the outdoors. He had a love for animals, especially his pets, Mosley, Buddy, and Sweetie. John had a generous nature and loved the opportunity to help others, especially his family and neighbors. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
His survivors include his mother, Jeanne Jones (formerly Davies) of Racine; his sisters, Nancy (Gary) Strong of Brookfield, Mary (Richard) Gotthardt, Julie (Brett) Sheen both of Racine; his nieces and nephews, Julie Strong, Troy (Danielle) Strong, Molly and Beau Gotthardt, Allie and Ryan Sheen, great niece Findley Strong; his step-sisters and step-brother, Carol (David) Murray of Los Altos, CA, David Jones of Dallas, TX, Janet (Al) Reed, Nancy Jones both of Racine; dear friends, Mike and Kathy Murphy of Racine, Karen and Clem Stublaski of Sturtevant; as well as many other family members and friends. John was preceded in death by his father, Robert Davies and step-father, Herb Jones, and great niece Veronica Strong.
Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Lucy Catholic Church (3101 Drexel Ave.) on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. for the celebration of John’s life and memorial Mass with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. There will be a visitation in the church on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials have been suggested to St. Lucy Catholic Church.

So sad to see that John Passed!! He was Our Best Man in Our Wedding over 23 years ago!! Haven’t seen him for awhile though…But we had alot of laughs years ago!This upsets me so

Many fond memories of John. He was a great guy and will surely be missed. Heaven’s gardens will forever be that much more beautiful.
