Darlene Charlotte Hansen

Apr 16, 1949 – Mar 31, 2012

Mount Pleasant – Darlene Charlotte Hansen, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 31, 2012. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 16, 1949 to Frank and LaVerne (nee: Pohlmann) Dembski. Darlene grew up in Pell Lake, and graduated from Badger High School in 1967. She married Ronald G. Hansen on September 18, 1971, at the Methodist Church in Salem, WI.

Darlene worked as the head cashier at Farm & Fleet in Sturtevant for more than 20 years, retiring in 2009.  She loved getting together with family and friends often.  She adored her grandkids and loved the time that she got to spend watching them throughout the week as well as on her regular trips to La Crosse.  Darlene had a true love for gardening, hunting, fishing and ice fishing.  She also loved the time she spent at the cabin with her family.  Darlene and Ron were able to enjoy their yearly vacations and traveled to many different destinations.

She is survived by her dear husband, Ron; their children, Becky (Ron) Dehli of Holmen, Rick Hansen and Paul (Amanda) Hansen both of Racine, and Mark (Hillary) Hansen of Ettrick; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Ashley, Gage, Brooklyn, Aiden, Adalyn, and Owen; her father and step-mother, Frank and Kathy Dembski; sister, Debbie (Kevin) Podsiadlik all of Pell Lake. She is further survived by her step-brothers, Scott (Joan) Klabunde and Trent (Cindy) Klabunde both of Genoa City, and Fred (Kristina) Klabunde of Pell Lake; brothers-in-law, Ken Gangl of Iron Mt. Michigan, Dale (Margo) Williams of Pell Lake, and Ed Holkup of LaCrosse; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, LaVerne Dembski; and sister, Diane Gangl.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2012 with Rev. Mark Swanson officiating. Interment will follow at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will take place in the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.; and on Thursday beginning at 10 a.m. Memorials to the family have been kindly suggested.
