
Racine– Matthew Carl “Butch” Christofferson, 31, passed away unexpectedly at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Saturday, May 19, 2012.
Butch was born in Racine on August 10, 1980 to Harry and Joni (nee: Helminiak) Christofferson. He attended Fratt Elementary, McKinley Middle, Washington Park High, and Gateway Technical College with aspirations of being a chef.
Among his interests, Butch was a fantastic cook, master of the grill, had an incredible appreciation for the great outdoors, was an avid sports fan – especially of basketball, had an exceptional dry sense of humor and was constantly making people laugh, and was fond of all types of music. Above all, he loved and cherished being in the surroundings of his entire family and extensive circle of friends.
Surviving are his parents, Harry and Joni Christofferson; adored son, Morrison James Christofferson; brothers, Christopher and Sean (Jennifer Willard) Christofferson; niece and nephew, Kyra and Mason Christofferson; special friend and mother of his son, Brea Quadracci; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name.
A memorial service celebrating Butch’s life will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. In memory of Butch, memorials to his family have been suggested.
