
SAUSALITO, CA. (formerly of Racine) – Karen Kosterman-Clever, 61, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on April 22, 2012.
She was born in Racine on April 20, 1951, the daughter of the late Albert and Marion “Grace” (nee: Zierk) Kosterman, Sr. Karen attended school at Holy Name and St. Catherine’s, graduating in 1969. She moved from Racine and lived in various cities around the Midwest but eventually settled on the west coast in Sausalito, CA.
She married Nick Clever in 2007 and together they operated a vineyard in northern California. He preceded her in death a few years later.
Karen is survived by her dog, Marshmallow who was the love and joy of her life; her sisters and brothers, Mary (Dave) Gobis of Racine, Tom (Diane) Kosterman of Waupaca, Judy (John) Melcher, Albert (Vicki) Kosterman, Jr., Jim (Debbie) Kosterman all of Racine, Richard (Cathy) Kosterman of Caledonia and Betty (Don) Kusserow of Wild Rose; as well as many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Karen was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Raschke.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. for a service remembering and celebrating Karen’s life with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. There will be a visitation in the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the family for a fund to be established in Karen’s name at a later date.
