Somers – Gordon M. Graham, 18, found his peace on Tuesday, June 26, 2012. He was born in Hinsdale, Illinois on November 6, 1993, the son of Michael and Victoria (nee: Peterson) Graham.
Gordon was a strong-willed and independent young man who possessed an insight uncommon among most of those his age. He was a keen-eyed and instinctive naturalist with a defined interest in the environment. He loved his truck and had dreams of an engine conversion to nitrox based fuel. It didn’t matter what the 1991 rusted out body looked like, it was the power under the hood that counted. He treated his body the same way: the value was within. A study in contrasts, Gordon could be ironically humorous, cuttingly critical, deeply compassionate, impatient and then patient beyond measure. For Gordon most things were either very important or without concern, little was in the middle and few could influence his opinions. He is now missed by those who knew him best because of the potential he represented.
Gordon is survived by his parents, Mike and Tori Graham of Somers; his brothers, Todd Graham of Somers, and Chris Graham of Warrenville, Illinois; his uncles and aunt, Jim (Judy) Graham of Maryville, Tennessee, Gordon Edmond Peterson II of Dallas, Texas, Roberta (Rich) Colwell of Eustis, Florida, and Ron Prange of Maryland; as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and his aunt, Jane Prange.
All are invited to visit with his family in the funeral home on Monday, July 2, 2012 from 2pm – 3pm. Donations in Gordon’s memory have been suggested to the Xerces Society (http://www.xerces.org/give/ ), or the Oconomowoc Developmental Training Center, 36100 Genesee Lake Rd. Oconomowoc, WI 53066
