Rose Mary Treiber

Jul 13, 1923 – Jul 5, 2012

Racine – Rose Mary Treiber, 88, passed away at her residence on Thursday, July 5, 2012 with her close family by her side. She was born on July 13, 1923, the daughter of the late Frank and Julia (nee: Gulyas) Bogyos, Sr.  She was a lifetime resident of Racine, and graduated from Horlick High School in 1941. In August of 1953 she was united in marriage to John Louis Treiber. He preceded her in death in December of 1980.

Rose Mary’s work career started at Eisendrath Tanning Co., Wisconsin Telephone Co. (where she still could recite telephone exchanges), Racine Sheriff Dept.,  Jacobsen Manufacturing (where she developed cost saving inventory programs), Bank of Elmwood, and TNT Advertising and Graphics (where she kept a certain nephew in line).

She will be affectionately remembered by her family as their doting Aunt Mimi, and a special “grandmother” to some. Forever proud of her Hungarian heritage, she enjoyed performing with a Hungarian Dance Troupe that traveled the Midwest in the 50’s. Rose Mary was known as the family historian and archivist, where she could recite relative’s birthdates and anniversary’s.  She could beat the pants off you in Skip Bo or Pounce. She cared for all of God’s creatures and enjoyed feeding birds and rescuing dogs. Rose Mary was a proud contributor and supporter of the Disabled American Veterans, and a longtime member of Somers United Church of Christ.

Rose Mary is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Frank and Florence Bogyos of Burlington; nieces and nephews; Patricia Moore,  Jerry (Sherry) Treiber,  Jim (Sandy) Treiber, Mary Jo Larsen,  Jean (Ray) Nelson all of Racine, Pam (Rodney) Shaw of Onalaska,  Julie (Dennis) Ricchio of Pewaukee,  Cathy (Tim) Erikson of Delavan,  Jon (Jill) Treiber of Kenosha, and Frank Bogyos of Asbury, New Jersey; as well as many loving great-nieces and great-nephews, relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her sisters Julia (Louis) Biksey, Margaret (William) Treiber, Anne (Earnest) Gayhart, and Mary Bogyos; sister-in-law Mary (Curly) Rubek; brother-in-law Joe (Dorothy) Trieber; and nephew Donny Rubeck.

The family would like to thank Peppa, Vania and staff at Eldcare Services for the care and compassion shown to Rose Mary.

Visitations will be at Draeger-Langendorf  Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5-7pm; and again on Wednesday beginning at 10 a.m.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 with Rev. Kathleen Gloff sharing services with Pastor Melanie Hammond Clark. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials to the Disabled Veterans of America have been suggested.

Testimonials

May 11, 2021

Gary is a warm, kind, loving, human being. He seems to have passed that quality onto the rest of his family. I have deep respect for him and his family. I have been able to say goodbye to several of my friends in this beautiful facility. God Bless.
