Dorothy Jeanne Johnson

Apr 3, 1922 – Oct 3, 2012

Racine – Dorothy Jeanne Johnson, 90, received the promise of eternal life on Wednesday, October 3, 2012.  She was born in Sextonville on April 3, 1922, daughter of the late David and Dorothy (nee: Lawton) Nelson.

Jeanne attended Park High School in Racine, class of 1940.  She was a customer service representative for Dremel Manufacturing until her retirement in the late 1980’s.  She worked part time at Christy’s of West Racine and the food pantry for many years thereafter.  Visiting family and friends was her passion and she gave joy to many.  Jeanne was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church and enjoyed her church family very much.  She had many dear friends in the Racine area and loved going out for lunch as much as she could.  Above all, Jeanne cherished her family and especially treasured her grandchildren.  She was a loving soul who will be missed by all who knew her.

Jeanne leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Garry (Maureen) Johnson, Todd Johnson, Kevin (Laurie) Johnson, Sue (Terry) Hess, all of Racine; grandchildren, Michael (Colleen) Johnson, Lisa (Joe) Zeisberger, Courtney Roushia, Brandon Rugzie, Joel (Lisa) Johnson, Zachary (Megan) Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Hannah (John) Bodnar, Felicia Hess; great-grandchildren, Franz Zeisberger, Ava Roberts, Mila Johnson; brothers, David (Dorothy) Nelson, Dick (Shirley) Nelson, both of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends too numerous to mention.  In addition to her parents, Jeanne is preceded in death by her infant son, Brian; sisters, Corrine Schimming, Shirley Klamm, and Phyllis Lloyd.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, 6pm, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3825 Erie Street, with Rev. Rosalind Dryver-Scott officiating.  Visitation will be in the church from 4pm until the time of the service.  The family has suggested memorials to Trinity United Methodist Church.

A special “Thank You” to the nurses and caregivers of Lakeshore Manor and Wheaton Franciscan Cardiovascular Institute for their exceptional care, patience and love.  Bill Hoff – you have been our angel through all of this and words cannot express our gratitude.  You are all in our prayers.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

My family and I would like to thank you and your staff for all the kindness and sincere expressions of sympathy that you extended to us during the loss of my son, Todd Swanson. We appreciate all the extra special things you did to help us through this very difficult time. We didn’t have to think ahead, we just had to be there while every little detail was taken care of by you and your staff. This made an impression on everyone that came, and I will never forget it. Thank you from all of us.

Joyce Peterson, Larry Swanson, Jeryl Medlin, Troy Swanson families, Nellie Heieren, Lisa Swanson, Alyssa, Kayla, and Tyler
