Alice J. Hansen

Jan 16, 1923 – Oct 13, 2012

Racine- Alice Jane Hansen (nee: Rawls), age 89, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2012.  Alice was born on January 16, 1923 in Arcadia, Florida to Louis and Leona Rawls.  She was united in marriage to Carl Richard “Dick” F. Hansen on March 3, 1949.  He preceded her in death on June 23, 1978.

Alicewas a faithful Christian.  She was among the original members of Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church and an active volunteer. 

Alicegraduated as a Registered Nurse from University of Virginia in 1947.  She also earned a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee in 1978 and was a Public Health Nurse for many years, first for Racine County and then the Village of Caledonia. 

Surviving are her sons, Carl (Sue) Hansen of Three Lakes, Hans (Robin) Hansen of Racine, Allan "Chris" (Teri) Hansen of Half Moon Bay, California and Jens Hansen of San Jose, California; five grandchildren, Justin (Jackie) Hansen of Harshaw, Jody (Matthew) Christiansen of Wausau, Kai (Valerie) Hansen of Chicago, Illinois, Dana (eng. Luke Schatzman) Hansen of Racine and Khrist (Natalie) Hansen of Racine; seven great -grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

In accordance with Alice’s wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held in Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church, 1700 S. Green Bay Road, on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Kara Baylor officiating. A reception will follow. Visitation with Alice’s family will be in the church on Thursday from 2-3 pm.  Memorials to Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church and Friends of Seniors would be appreciated.
