
Racine – Joseph Steven Minorik, 73, received the promise of eternal life on Monday, December 24, 2012, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Milwaukee on February 20, 1939, son of the late Joseph and Pauline (nee: Bagin) Minorik.
On May 12, 2001, Joe was united in marriage to Kathleen (nee: Ford) Minorik.
Joe proudly worked hard his entire life. He was a machinist and retired from J.I. Case after many loyal years. Joe then continued to work for R&B Grinding following his retirement. He was a longtime member of Local 180. Joe always enjoyed joking around with the guys. He enjoyed bowling in his younger years and also enjoyed watching his son, Joe, do the same. Joe was an avid Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan. He enjoyed taking regular walks with his four legged companion, Benji. Joe was devoted to First Baptist Church where he and Kathie have been members for years. Above all, he treasured his family and will be dearly missed by all of them.
Joe leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Kathie Minorik of Racine; children, Joseph (Tracie) Minorik of Racine, Becky (Thomas) Schwalie of Crystal Lake, IL; step-children, Donald Ford of Melbourne, FL, David Watzlawick of Racine; grandchildren, Joseph (Elizabeth Bykowski) Minorik V (Joey), Stephanie Minorik, both of Racine; step-grandchildren, Tom Ford, Dan Ford, Nikki Ford, Steve Ford, Courtni Ford, Whitni Ford; great-granddaughter, MaryJane “MJ” Minorik, with whom Joe shares the same birthday; brothers and sisters, Joan (Gerald) Arnold, Pauline Dalton, Gary (Barbara) Minorik, Marion McCarey; and other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention. Joe was formerly married to Patricia (nee: Gorczany) Minorik on August 29, 1964 for thirty years. In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine (Larry) Colette; and brother-in-law, George Dalton.
A funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday, January 3, 2013, 6pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, with Rev. Holly Anderle officiating. Visitation will be from 4pm until the time of the service. Interment will take place on Friday, January 4, 11am, at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7301 W. Nash Street, Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the American Cancer Society or First Baptist Church in Racine.
