Cordova, TN – Jane (nee: Petrakis) Boes, 92, passed away peacefully at Applingwood Healthcare Center in Cordova, TN on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 11:45 pm.
Jane was born in Racine on August 5, 1920 to the late Anthony and Georgia (nee: Demakis) Petrakis. She graduated from Washington Park High School in 1939. Jane was a lifetime resident of Racine until moving to Cordova, TN in 2002 to be close to her family.
On November 6, 1943 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church she was united in marriage with Dale Charles Boes, who preceded her in death on December 29, 1956.
Jane was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister. When she wasn’t spending time with her family, she loved to cook, garden, and golf. She also was an avid reader of books, magazines and the newspaper.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Diane Boes of Cordova, TN; grandchildren, Kevin Boes and Monica Boes; nieces and nephews, Carol Fritchen, Betty Goldberg, Gus (Jan) Petrakis, and Sally Petrakis; great-nieces and nephews, Brian Fritchen, Jacki (John) Prostko, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jane was preceded in death by her sister, Hilda Sell; brother, Gus (Jane) Petrakis; and nephews, John Fritchen and Dave Petrakis.
Funeral services will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 1-2 pm.
