Violet J. Hermann

Dec 15, 1914 – Jan 19, 2013

Violet J. Hermann, 98, passed away at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center on Saturday, January 19, 2013. She was born in Racine, on December 15, 1914, the daughter of the late Alex and Anna (nee: Kramer) Corbeille.

On April 10, 1935, she was united in marriage to Lester Hermann, who preceded her in death on February 16, 1972. Mrs. Hermann had been employed by Eisendrath Tannery for over 16 years and retired from St. Mary’s Hospital after 10 years of service. She was a member of St. Richard’s Church. Mrs. Hermann enjoyed having flowers on her patio, working word search puzzles, watching soap operas, watching her golf, embroidering, and feeding the birds and chipmunks. Above all she enjoyed being with family and friends.

Surviving are her daughter, Linda Creekpaum, of Racine; 18 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great grandson; sister, Virginia “Tia” (Vernon) La Fond, of Oshkosh; sister-in-law, Lucille VanGemert, or Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Mrs. Hermann was preceded in death by her son, John (Alice) Hermann; daughters, Nancy Hess, Frances (Frank) Bower; grandson, Robert Creekpaum Jr.; great grandson, Nathan Bower; great granddaughter, Jenifer Creekpaum; brothers, William VanGemert, Don VanGemert; sisters, Frances (Donald) Bowsher, Agnes (Earl) Fellion, Marie (Jerome) Soothill, and Lillian(Alex) Sharkey.

Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, January 24th, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ronald J. Gramza officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to them to establish a memorial in her name at a later date.

A special thanks to her grandson, Russ Karow and granddaughter, Kim Hobson for always being there and taking care of her.

Rest in peace Grandma. I miss you already. I hope you are playing your hermonica with the Bower Boys and Aunt Fran singing and everyone else dancing. Love you forever.

Gramma, I miss you so much. You were always willing to answer my genealogy questions and I loved listening to your stories about “the good old days”. I’d like to think that you and Grampa and Dad and Aunt Nancy and Aunt Fran are having a good old time up there in heaven. Hug them all for me and tell them someday we’ll all be together again. I love you so much, Gramma.

Testimonials

Our Memorial to “Mom”

Our family wants to thank Mike and the staff of Draeger-Langendorf for their compassion and caring in the death of our mother. They attended to every detail with such professionalism and made this difficult time so much easier by unburdening us of all that needs to be done with the arrangements. We all felt that there was nothing more they could have been done. It was perfect. We can now go forward with the memories that we hold in our hearts of mom and know that we provided the best possible service by choosing Draeger-Langendorf.
