Mr. John T. Pogue, 67, passed away at his residence after a long illness on Monday, February 4, 2013.
He was born in Clinton, OK on January 29, 1946, the son of the late Vernon and Elner (nee: Sexe) Pogue. On December 28, 1990 he married Gail Brown in Sturgeon Bay.
John worked as an inspector for Bombardier Recreational Products until his illness forced an early retirement. Much of John’s joy came in the time spent in his plane. In fact, he met his wife Gail at an air show. He also enjoyed teaching others how to fly as an instructor. John’s other interests included cowboy action shooting, building computers and nautical history.
In addition to his wife Gail, he is survived by his daughters, Sheri (Geoff) Smith of Marinette, WI, Michelle (Robert) Fleischman of Richmond, VA; his grandchildren, Megan, Alex and Violet; his brother, James (Sue) Pogue of Wuthering Heights, IL; as well as many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-laws, and other dear family members.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday evening for a visitation from 5-7 p.m. The celebration of his life will take place in the funeral home on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. There will also be time to visit with the family on Saturday from 9-10 a.m. His interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Caledonia following the service at the funeral home.
The Pogue family wishes to thank Wheaton Franciscan Hospice, especially his nurse, Mary for the loving and professional care that was provided to the entire family.
