Duane J. Luebke, Sr.

Aug 27, 1932 – Feb 9, 2013

Racine– Duane J. Luebke, Sr., age 80, passed away at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee on Saturday, February 9, 2013.  

Duane was born in Milwaukee on August 27, 1932 to the late Walter and Vera (nee: Bone) Luebke. He faithfully served our Country with the United States Army as a Private First Class in the Korean War from March 3, 1950 until May 19, 1953. On November 6, 1953 he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Betty (nee: Brooks) Luebke – who preceded him in death on July 22, 1986.  

Duane enjoyed watching football and was an extreme Green Bay Packer fan. More importantly, he loved and cherished being in the surroundings of his entire family.  

Surviving are his children, Duane J. Luebke, Jr.; Renee (Tim) Jung, Veronica (Tom) Thomas, Betty (Gregory) Solfest and Janeen (Andrew Gresk) Luebke; grandchildren, Ashley (Chris) Brach, Jerrid (Jay) Luebke, Cary (Dave) Madrigal, Jenny (Christopher) Hegerty, Matthew SanFelipe, Robert Fink, Faylene Solfest, Betty Solfest, Neda Salinas, Katie Salinas and Barrett Salinas; great-grandchildren, Talia, Christopher and Mason Brach; Nathan, Katie and Linzy Madrigal; Gabrielle and Michael SanFelipe; and Elle Salinas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  

In addition to his parents and wife, Duane was preceded in death by his grandson, Amos Luebke; brothers, Walter (Bernice) and James (Arlene) Luebke; and sisters, Vera (Andrew) Wesolwski and Renee Jagodzinski.  

A memorial service celebrating Duane’s life will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Military honors will follow. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 – 2:00 pm. Private entombment will take place at the S. Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
