Iva Bernice Pace

May 29, 1926 – Feb 11, 2013

Racine – Surrounded in the peace and love of her family, Iva Bernice Pace, 86, passed away at WFH All Saints Hospital on Monday, February 11, 2013. She was born in Alcorn County, Mississippi on May 29, 1926, daughter of the late Floyd and Dolly (nee Hardin) Maness. She was married in Booneville, Mississippi on September 4, 1948 to Oldridge Ray Pace.

Iva was proud of her life’s work, that of a homemaker and stay-at-home mom. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, and loved to cook – especially Southern cooking for family and friends. Iva had a lifelong passion for studying the Bible. She was a Sunday school teacher and ministered to those in need throughout her lifetime with encouragement and prayer. She was also an accomplished church vocalist who inspired others with her Southern gospel songs.

Iva is survived by her beloved husband, Ray Pace of Racine; her daughters, Linda (Steve) Poland of Oregon, Wisconsin, and Sherry (Eugene) Ingram of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois; her sons, Victor (Denise) Pace of Kenosha, Rick (Mary) Pace of Racine, and Jerry (Janice) Pace of Kenosha, and; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister and brothers, Mildred Brimingham-Morgan in Mississippi, Milford Maness in Tennessee, Hugh Maness, and Billy (Barbara) Maness both in Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her brother, J.W. Maness; and sisters-in-law, Artie Bell Maness, Willie Etta Maness, and Aileen Maness.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 7pm on Thursday, February 14, 2013 with her grandson, Pastor Jason Ingram officiating. Public visitation will begin at 4pm. Iva will be laid to rest at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park with a private service. Donations to the American Cancer Society in Iva’s memory have been suggested.

Dear Jon & Family, I am sad for you as you grieve your loss, but I rejoice with heaven at their gain. I’m guessing Iva is already cooking, singing and leading bible study on the other side of the Golden Gates! God bless all of you as your journey your path of grief, knowing she is looking down on her loving family. She sounded like a very loving lady who left a great legacy. Sincerely and with prayer, Jill Fletcher
