Donald E. Schaefer

Mar 17, 1958 – May 9, 2013

Donald E. Schaefer, 55, passed away unexpectedly in Wheaton Franciscan Hospital-All Saints, on Thursday, May 9, 2013. He was born in Racine on March 17, 1958, the son of David and the late Beverly (nee: Fiskum) Schaefer.

Donald had been employed by Edstrom Industries for the past 10 years. Previous to Edstrom he worked for Danfoss and Webster Electric. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and canoeing on the Wisconsin River. Most of all Donald enjoyed all of our family gatherings.

Surviving are his father, David Schaefer, sisters, Dawn (Tom) Hall, of Racine, and Sandra Schaefer, of South Milwaukee, nieces, Sara (Steve Paulausky) Hall, of Cedar Lake, IN, and Jena Hall of Racine, great nephew and great niece, Mason and Autumn. His aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive him. In addition to his mother, Don was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Grace Schaefer and Elmer and Mae Fiskum.

His memorial service will be held in the held in the funeral home on Friday, May 17th, at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Private entombment will be held in West Lawn Memorial Park at a later date.

Testimonials

Jessie Tuttle

Dear Bob,
I just wanted to thank you again for all your help and everything you did for my grandfather’s funeral. Looking back on it, I think Gramps would have been so proud of how everything turned out and it would not have been possible without your help. Your staff is amazing and has allowed us the grieve without worrying about the little details of everything that goes into making the arrangements and planning the services. You helped us honor one of the most amazing men in my life, and it meant so much to me personally and to my family. Thank you for everything.
Take care,
Jessie Tuttle
