
Racine- Margaret Mary Oremovich- Edmonston- Johnson- Haluska, age 91, passed away at Select Specialty Hospital in West Allis, May 20, 2013, surrounded by her children.
Margaret was born in Racine on June 27, 1921 to the late Evan "Jack" and Katherine (nee: Pavletic) Oremovich. Following graduation from high school, Margaret began raising a family and started her long time career cooking for many restaurants, parties, families and individuals. She owned Marge's Grill and many years later owned Marty's Harmony Bar with her husband Martin Haluska. Still busy at age 80, Margaret took care of a 95-year-old woman.
Margaret's favorite cooking job was working at the Senior Citizen Lunch program at Douglas Park, and her position at L and M Meats, from where she retired in 1997. Margaret's passion was cooking and baking, along with sewing, crocheting and embroidery work. She was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse where she lent her talented hands to many children's events. Margaret cherished being in the surroundings of her family, especially the little ones that she loved to hold. May she rest in Peace.
Surviving are her children, Errol “Tiny” Edmonston, Carol (James) Hansen, Ronald Edmonston, Pamela Kratochvil, Anne (Michael) Cundari, Oliver Johnson, Gerald Johnson and Elizabeth “Cricket” (Ed Carpino) Johnson; step daughter, Joy (James)Mahoney; many adored grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren – too numerous to mention all by name; sister, Jeanette Domanico; sister-in-law, Elaine Oremovich; nieces, nephews, other friends and relatives.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husbands, Gordon Edmonston, Selmer Johnson, and Martin Haluska; infant daughter, Kathy Rose; step son, Martin "Marty" Haluska Jr.; brothers, Evan "John" (Virginia) Oremovich, Emil and Rudy Oremovich.
Funeral services will be held at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, May, 29, 2013 at 11:00 am with Pastor William Thompkins, and her son-in-law, Reverend Michael Cundari officiating. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 pm and on Wednesday from 10-11 am.
