Doris Mae Bogan

Oct 19, 1937 – Sep 5, 2014

~~Doris Mae (nee: Tenort) Bogan was born on October 19, 1937 in Enterprise, MS, to the union of the late Willie Ceders and Mary Allie (nee: Buckley) Tenort.  At an early age, she gave her life to Christ and became a member of New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Enterprise, MS. In 1964 she relocated to Racine, WI and was employed by Rainfair Inc. for many years.
Doris was blessed with two sons; the Curtis Causey and Steven Bernard Bogan.  She loved to have family gatherings; her home was a sanctuary to lots of people for many, many years. Doris was a phenomenal cook. She also enjoyed fishing, word search puzzles, as well as tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She was a true comedian at heart. Her sons, grandchildren and great grand-children were the sparkles of her eye.
On Friday September 5, 2014 Doris transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home.  She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Steven Bernard Bogan, six grandchildren, Quinesha (William) (nee: Causey) Turner, Natasha (nee: Causey) Booker, Shana Causey, Laqueda Causey, Lashanda Lockridge and Quinton Idleburg, eight great-grandchildren; Symone Causey, Myah Turner, Darrius Monroe, Jr, William S. Turner, III, Reggie L. Booker, Jr., SaDarian Bell, Quinton Idleburg II, JaNyus Lockridge, three brothers; Willie B. Tenort, Oscar Tenort, Ernest Tenort, four sisters; Daisy Bogan, Charlene (Lacy) King, Azalene (Bernard) Flora, Willie Ruth (Tunzyaan) Williams.
Doris was preceded in death by her son Curtis Causey, brother; Eddie Tenort, a brother in law; Oscar Bogan and her companion for over thirty years; Jessie Bland Sr.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 in the funeral home chapel at 10:00am.  Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Viewing will be at the funeral home from 9am until the time of service.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

Brian and the rest of the staff, we just wanted to take a moment to thank you for handling every detail of our mom’s (Vera Miller’s) funeral so expeditiously and flawlessly. Being here in North Carolina, I was worried about getting mom back to WI which was her wish. All I had to do was make one phone call to your office and you seamlessly got her from Rex Healthcare in Raleigh, NC back to WI.

All of the arrangements were so impeccable; pictures, book for signing, flowers, thank you and acknowledgement cards, arrangements with Graceland Cemetery, and even playing our slideshow with music and photos, and getting it to loop properly.

You took so much worry off of me and my siblings by professionally stepping in and handling everything for us. I was going a little crazy thinking I had to do it all, but you helped so much that we just needed to share these thoughts and feelings with others. Thank you for everything,

– Vicky Coerper, Janice Miller, Kenny Miller and Monica Bailey
