Carrie (nee: Gregerson) E. Hagarty

Nov 22, 1975 – Mar 31, 2015

Racine – Carrie E. (nee: Gregerson) Hagarty, age 39; passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 following a courageous 5-year battle with cancer.

Carrie was born in Racine on November 22, 1975 to Harlan and Lorretta (nee: Stenson) Gregerson. A 1993 graduate of Washington Park High School, she had been employed for several years by Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac and, for the past 5 years, CNH Global in Racine.

Carrie was a proud member of Grace Lutheran Church. Among her interests, she enjoyed painting and crafts – including her handmade Christmas presents. Carrie was also passionate about reading. Above all, Carrie loved being a Mom and her wonderful 7-year old son, Brenden, was her entire life. Carrie fought her battle with breast cancer – right until the very end with Brenden always at her side.

Surviving are her son, Brenden; parents, Harlan and Lorretta; sister, Michele (Michael) Palmer; nieces and nephews, Joshua (Lauren) Kienbaum, Casey Kienbaum, Dyani Palmer, Michael and Jeremy Gregerson; Carrie’s second family, the entire Saladis family; husband, Patrick Hagarty; step-daughter, Kayla Hagarty; mother-in-law, Carole Hagarty; father-in-law, Jack (Jean) Hagarty; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Carrie was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Gregerson; and grandparents, Sherman & Lorraine Gregerson and Orville & Doris Stenson.

Funeral services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 3700 Washington Avenue, on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Randal A. Poppe officiating. Visitation will be in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 pm and in the church on Saturday from 11 am -12 noon. Private interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials to the family for Brenden’s College Fund have been suggested.

A heartfelt note of thanks to Dr. Mark Choi and the entire Wheaton Franciscan Cancer Center for the compassionate care and support; and to all of Carrie’s co-workers and friends for all the acts of kindness shown during the past 5 years. May God bless all of you!

Carrie will forever be a part of our hearts. We can say without doubt that God brought her out of her pain and suffering and into His kingdom. She was very strong and brought a smile to everyones face. I know she will be smiling down on Brenden and everyone she loved. We are here for you all and send our love.

Testimonials

June 24, 2020

My Aunt, Alvera Van Brunt, was adamant about not having a funeral; with Mike Langendorf’s skills and refreshing open personality, we were able to meet her desires and also give her family and friends a chance for final goodbyes.
