Sturtevant – Allan A. Acker, Sr.; age 78; passed away peacefully at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha on Thursday, July 14, 2016.

Allan was born in Franksville, WI on April 19, 1938 to the late Benjamin and Evelyn (nee: Searing) Acker. On June 20, 1959 in Sacred Heart of St. Martin, he was united in marriage with Jeanette (nee: Ambrose) Acker. Allan was a heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers Local 139.

Allan was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church; Local 139; and served as Past-President & Trustee for the Village of Sturtevant. He was also a Sturtevant Little League baseball coach for many years. He enjoyed gardening, going Up-North to Mondovi for hunting and, above all, spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife, Jeanette; their children, Mark (Cara) Acker, Christine LaRosa, Jean Lamb, Barb Klein, Michael Acker and Scott (Lisa) Acker; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers & sisters, Fr. Karl Acker, Duane (Dorothy) Acker, Muriel Bergeron, Ordell Woltz, Delores (Robert) Becker, Judy (Jim) Oesau, Janice Acker and David Acker; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Allan Acker, Jr. in 1986 and by his brother-in-law, Donald Bergeron.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 11:00 am in St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 3126 95th Street in Sturtevant, with Rev. Karl Acker and Rev. Javier Guativa officiating. Interment will follow in Arlington Park Cemetery in Milwaukee at 1:00 pm.  Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5 pm (prayer service at 4 pm) and in the church on Monday from 10-11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or offer an act of kindness to someone in need have been suggested.

A special note of thanks to Dr. Michael Mullane, Kelly Konesko, NP and the wonderful nursing staff of Aurora Cancer Center (especially Sue) for the compassionate care and support given in Allan’s time of need. May God bless all of you!

Testimonials

Thankful

We recently used Draeger-Langendorf’s services for my grandmothers funeral and we are so thankful for Mike and the rest of the staffs help. They made the whole process easy and never urged us to make a certain choice. They were very informative of how the service was going to go and always made sure we knew what was going on. To our surprise Mike Langendorf was there singing in the choir during the funeral and it really made us feel like he truly cared about us. Such a fantastic singing voice! Amazing people to have helping plan during a hard time, would highly recommend.
