Mt. Pleasant – Robert Eugene Betterton, 74, formerly Kenosha, was surrounded by his family as he passed away peacefully at All Saints Hospital on Friday, November 18, 2016. He was born in Greenville, Illinois on February 3, 1942, son of the late Marshall and Gladys (nee: Klienik) Betterton. He was married on July 17, 1967 to Beverly Ann Heather in Kenosha and they were just shy of their 50th wedding anniversary. Bob served in the US Army as a Sgt. for the 101st Airborne, which included a tour in Viet Nam.

Bob worked at AT&T for over 30 years. In retirement, he enjoyed renovating homes. He could fix just about anything and was always willing to help others. In his free time, he enjoyed relaxing with family and his dogs, Lucky and Lulu.

Left to cherish his memory are Bob’s wife, Beverly Betterton of Mt. Pleasant; his children Jennifer (Mike) Rakowiecki of Wauwatosa, Leslie (Scott) Schoenfeld of Kenosha, Thomas Betterton of Mt. Pleasant and Robbie Betterton; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild with a 2nd on the way. He is further survived by his brothers Harold “Jim” Betterton, Ronald “Ron” Betterton, and Marshall “Charlie” Betterton; other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for Bob will be held in the funeral home at 3pm on Monday, December 19, 2016. Visitation will begin at 1pm. Memorials to the American Lung Association have been suggested.

Testimonials

February 20, 2019

Mike and his team did a fabulous job with the memorial service for our Mom. It was perfect and he made the process easy for me to go through during such a difficult time. She had chosen the funeral home before hand, and she made the right choice. The service was beautiful, simple, and sweet. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
