Deane Darlington Sharpe, 82, passed away May 9, 2017 at Oak Ridge Care Center in Union Grove. He was born in Racine on July 25, 1934, the son of Ellwood and Isabelle Sharpe. On October 1, 1954, he was united in marriage to Jody Doris Lentz. Deane and Jody shared 56 years of marriage before Jody’s death in December 2010. Deane worked most of his life as an Operating Engineer. He was proud to belong to Operating Engineers Local 139 Union. Besides being an excellent machinery and grader operator, Deane also had a love for all of the pets he and Jody had throughout the years.   His passion for animals extended to all of the birds and wildlife on their ten acre property, caring for all. His home was licensed by the National Wildlife Federation as a wildlife habitat, for which they were proud supporters.  As well, he was a man that could repair, fix or build virtually anything – a talented jack of all trades – that was willing to help many. Surviving Deane are his four daughters, Sue Sharpe and her husband Alan Pinkerman of Goodfield, IL, Debra Wrobel of Kenosha, Gail Sharpe of Racine, and Kerry Sharpe of Whitewater; grandchildren Isak (Kym) Wold of Austin, TX, Melissa (Dean) Eckstron of Sauk City, Erik Pinkerman of Austin, TX, Sara Pinkerman of Savannah, GA, Nathan (Amanda) Wrobel of Belvidere, IL, Laura (Bill) Robinson of Kenosha, WI, Jill (Carl) Rumachik of Oregon, WI and Natalie Slater of Appleton, WI. Great grandchildren include: Lyla Rose, Leo, Riley, Leif, Rilynn, Julia Kate, Millie, Vivian and Max. Sister-in-Law Carol Sharpe, of Hill City, SD also survives him. Deane was preceded in death by his sister Isabelle Law of Sturtevant, WI who passed away October 15th, 2016 and his brother Ellwood Sharpe of Hill City, SD who passed on September 2012. Many special neighbors, friends, and relatives were a part of Deane’s special memories

Dear Langendorf Family,

There are no words to describe how thankful and loved we felt during our Grandpa’s funeral service. We are so lucky to know you as friends and we will be forever grateful for everything you have done for us and for Grandpa Mario throughout his lifetime and after his death. He loved you all and enjoyed sharing so many great times with you in the barbershop and as neighbors. Please accept our heartfelt thanks for all your caring ways and thoughtfulness and extend our appreciation to all at the funeral home who made Mario’s service so memorable.
