Service Details

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church¸1700 S. Green Bay Rd., at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 21st, with Rev. William Mains and Rev. Robert Clark officiating. Entombment, with full military honors, will follow in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials to Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church.

Thomas C. Nyman, 73, passed away in the Racine Commons, on Friday, July 14,2017. He was born in Appleton, WI on November 21, 1943 the son of Clifford John and (Mae Frances) Nyman.

Thomas received his associate degree from the Fox Valley Wisconsin Technical College. He served his country with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On June 24, 1967, in Whitnall Park Lutheran Church, he was united in marriage to the former Sharon Klug. Thomas was a member of Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church where he was Director of the Bell Choir for over 30 years.

Surviving are his devoted wife, Sharon; their children, Timothy (Betsy) Nyman, of Naperville, IL, and Kathryn (Michael) Fiala, of Salem, OR; grandchildren, Rebecca Nyman, Ethan and Jordan Fiala; father, Clifford Nyman; and sister, Amber (Rev. Robert) Clark, all of Galesburg, IL. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Family and friends are invited to meet at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church (1700 S. Green Bay Rd.) on Friday, July 21, 2017 for a visitation and time to meet with Tom’s family from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. A service celebrating and remembering his life will follow at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. William Mains and Rev. Robert Clark officiating.  A private interment will take place in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials to Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church.

    I will never forget Tom being a part of my childhood. We spent
    Many hours together, Christmas eves, and hot sunny days of summer
    At the pool. My prayers and thoughts are with you, Sharon, Kathryn, Tim
