Mount Pleasant – Michael T. Donnelly, 76, passed away at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha on Friday, May 11, 2018

Michael was born in Waukegan in December, 1941, the son of the late Robert and Grace (nee: Wood) Donnelly.  He graduated from Waukegan Central High School where, as a member of the ROTC, he showcased his drumming talent.

On September 10, 2000, he married Diane L. Rucinski.

Michael retired as a senior drafter at Abbott Laboratories after 35 years of employment.

Michael was a lover of nature and was happiest outdoors camping and hiking, and traveling.   Nature also served as his muse for his art.  Michael was gifted at etching, drawing, working with glass, air brushing, and photography.  He was even creative with food and was a talented chef.  Most important to Michael was his love of family and friends.

In addition to his loving wife, Diane Donnelly of Mount Pleasant, he is survived by his sons, Michael T. Donnelly, Jr. and Patrick Donnelly; his granddaughter Hanna Patricia Schultz all of Orland Park, IL; his sisters, Elizabeth (late William) Shuka of Ames, IA, Joan Hays (late Bob), of Keokuk, IA; his mother-in-law, Marie Martini (late Lee) of Hoffman Estates, IL; his sister-in-law, Sandra Allen of Huntley, IL; his nieces and nephews, Amanda Marie, John Edward, Rebecca and Robert, Donnalee and James, Virginia and Michael, Janice and John, Gayle (late Richard), Ken, David and Shelly, the late Stephen, and his canine buddy, Louie Lee.

Family and Friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 for a visitation from 10:00 a.m. – 11;00 a.m.  A service honoring and remembering Michael’s life will follow at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the National Kidney Foundation  (10909 W Greenfield Ave #201, West Allis, WI 53214)would be appreciated.

A heartfelt thank you to all his family and friends for all the love and support Michael and Diane have received.
