Kenosha – Ronald Joseph Schweninger, 73, received the promise of eternal life on Sunday, October 18, 2020.  He was born in Milwaukee on November 13, 1946, son of the late Robert and Mildred (Née: Kasseckert) Schweninger.

Ron was united to the love of his life, the former Louise Catherine Fortier, on June 28, 1969, at St. Mary’s Church in Little Falls, Minnesota

Ron was a civil engineer and retired from Graef, an engineering consulting firm.  He was a football and baseball fan.  He enjoyed rooting for his Green Bay Packers and liked to follow the Milwaukee Brewers and Minnesota Twins. Ron enjoyed spending time listening to the Paul Harvey show and woodworking.  He will be ever remembered not only for “bad dad jokes” but “bad engineering jokes”.  His happiest times were spent among his family and treasured those times dearly.

Ron leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of over 51 years, Louise Schweninger; sons, Robert (Tara) Schweninger, Steven (Dawn) Schweninger, Joseph (Sarah) Schweninger, Andrew (Kristine) Schweninger, Jeffrey Schweninger; grandchildren, Ronald, Jacob, Gabriel, Steven, Jr., Christopher, Andrew, Jr. “AJ”, Ethan, Caprice, Paul; sisters, Arlene Masnica, Carol (John) Steffle; sister-in-law, Jan Gustafson; other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention.

In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his infant sister, Elaine Schweninger; brothers, Robert (Sue) Schweninger, Norman Schweninger; and brother-in-law, Wayne Masnica.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020, 6:00pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road.  Visitation will be from 4:00pm until the time of the service.  Private burial will take place on All Saints Cemetery on a later date.

Testimonials

May 24, 2018

I can’t express my gratitude enough to Mike and the Draeger-Langendorf staff for such great service provided to us, as we made arrangements to lay our brother to rest. You all went above and beyond to make sure we understood every detail there was to know, from the greatest to the smallest. When we walked out of your office, we walked out with peace, knowing that our brother was in good hands. Thank you Mike for adding that special touch to my brother’s service, that’s the kind of stuff that separates you all from the rest. Once again Thank you so much.
