Service Details

Services celebrating Gibby’s life will be held in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 4:00 pm. Military honors & a reception will follow. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday from 2-4 pm. Private interment will take place in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Kenosha – Gilbert “Gibby” Lloyd Andersen, age 79, passed away peacefully at Grande Prairie Health & Rehab. Center on Friday, February 11, 2022.

Gilbert was born in Kenosha, WI on June 26, 1942 to the late Elmer and Edna (nee: Thomsen) Andersen. A graduate of Bradford High School, Gibby went on to faithfully serve our country with the United States Army 101st Airborne. With a tireless work ethic, Gilbert was employed as a concrete finisher with Cement Masons Local 845.

Surviving are his son, Jeff Andersen; daughter, Kim Andersen; grandsons, Jason & Jordan Andersen; sisters & brothers, Barbara (Otto) Tierburger, Larry (Kathie) Andersen, Linda Esposito and Mark (Janelle) Andersen; sister-in-law, Roberta Andersen; longtime companion Marge Opitz; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. Gibby was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Andersen; sister, Neta Bishop; former wife, Janet (nee: Halverson) Andersen; and brother-in-law, Bill Esposito.

    Uncle Gibby, thank you for always supporting me in my life’s dreams and ambitions. I have fond memories of your stories of the military and growing up with the Andersen and Foss Families on Hyw E in Somers. You will be missed by everyone who knew you!     I personally never met Gibby but Tom and Phil talk highly of him and I am sure he will be sorely missed!
