Memorial Suggestions

In lieu of flowers, for those wishing to remember Brad in a special way may direct memorials to the family.

Bradley G. Bartel, age 60, of Sturtevant, passed away peacefully on April 19th surrounded by family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Brad was born in Kenosha, WI on November 30, 1963, son of Gerald and Shirley (nee: Seibert) Bartel. Brad grew up in Sturtevant, WI and graduated from J.I. Case High School class of 1982.

On October 11, 1986, in Racine, WI, Brad married his beloved wife, Ann Holm, in a beautiful ceremony at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection where they continued to be members of the church. They built a wonderful life together and were with each other through all of life’s ups and downs.

Brad was employed for many years as a service technician and was last employed by Roundy Foods as a service technician supervisor. When Brad was on a job, everyone knew it would be done to perfection.

Brad loved working with his hands and was known to be able to fix just about anything at home or work. He was a problem solver with his favorite saying being, ‘there are no problems, only solutions”. He was a terrific teacher and could walk you through any problem that came your way.  He enjoyed watching the Packers and Brewers, listening to music, and being a seasonal camper at Sky High Campground with Ann. Brad was the best husband, dad, and bumpa. He always made sure his family was taken care of. Spending time and making memories with them was the most important thing to him, especially with his grandson, Clayton.

Left to mourn his death are his wife, Ann of Sturtevant, WI; his daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Aaron Cikel and his grandson, Clayton of Racine, WI; his parents, Gerald and Shirley Bartel of Sturtevant, WI; his siblings; Kim (Joe) Retallick of Morrisville, PA; Kelli (Tim) Brownewell of Racine, WI and Bruce (Kim) Bartel of Sturtevant, WI; his in-laws, Harold and Grace Holm of Racine, WI, and his sisters-in-law, Julie (Scott) Pfeffer of Racine, WI and Roxanne Holm of Forbes, ND. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Brad was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Barry Holm, and his grandparents.

A celebration of Brad’s life will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 10:00am, at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 322 Ohio Street, Racine, WI, with Pastor John Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park in Kenosha, WI. A visitation for Brad will take place on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Road, Mount Pleasant, WI. The family wishes for you to wear your favorite pair of jeans in remembrance of Brad. In lieu of flowers, for those wishing to remember Brad in a special way may direct memorials to the family.

The family would like to thank Dr. Papenfuss and his entire staff at St. Lukes, especially Cathy and Spencer and Aurora at Home Hospice nurse Jenn R., for the outstanding and compassionate care they provided to Brad.

Brad was taken from us far too soon, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Taken from us far too soon. So sad for his family. Brad was a guy you can count on and someone to look up to. He did things the correct way both professionally and personally. It was a true honor to know and work with him for as long as i did.

WOW! Growing up as a child with the Bartel’s was an amazing experience. I think about the holidays and all the laughter. Seeing my cousins and family. Aunt Shirley and Uncle Jerry are awesome parents and raised their kids beautifully. My heart goes out to the family and all those who were blessed to know Brad!

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

We want to thank Mike for the kindness and special attention he gave us for our mother. Marcella Conley. He came in the middle of the night himself to pick her up and take her to the funeral home. For the things that had to be taken care of, he told us not to worry; that it would be taken care of by him. Thank you also Mike for singing at her funeral, especially her favorite song, Amazing Grace. Thank you and all of your staff at Draeger-Langendorf.
