RACINE – Mr. Thomas C. Mueller, 85, passed away at Ascension Colombia Saint Mary’s in Milwaukee on September 28, 2024.

He was born in Franksville on December 5, 1938, the son of the late Carl and Elizabeth (nee Klinkhammer) Mueller. He graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1957. After graduation he worked as a teller and eventually promoted to vice-president of American Bank. Thomas also proudly served his country with the US Air Force.

Thomas married Romayne A. Marsch on May 30, 1959, at St. Edward Catholic Church.

After his work in banking, Thomas started in real estate with Bud Orth Realty and eventually worked independently. He left real estate to work as an engineer at William Horlick High School for 17 years, while also working as a school bus driver, a job he thoroughly enjoyed.  Thomas also worked at the Manheim Milwaukee Auto Auction for 12 years, where he loved working with the other seniors, joking with them every day.

Thomas was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. He gave 110 percent of everything he did. He was compassionate, hardworking, loving man. He never met a stranger. He loved life, working, people, and being there for everyone. He loved to hunt, fish, bake, cook, go camping, read and watch westerns, country music, and to go shopping.

He was a longtime member of St. Edward Catholic Church, St Louis Catholic Church, and the Racine German Club.

In addition to his loving wife, Romayne, he is survived by his daughter and sons, Debi Mueller, Jeffrey (Nancy) Mueller, Kenneth Mueller (Kimberly Simmons), and Joel Mueller; his grandchildren, Kevin, David, Michael, Carol, Lee, and Melissa; his great grandchildren, Aubrey and Beau; his brother-in-law, Orv Kothe; sister-in-law, Patricia Seter; as well as dear nieces and nephews.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine Kothe and brother-in-law, Wally Seter.

Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Edward Catholic Church (1401 Grove Ave) on Friday, October 11, 2024 for a visitation from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm.   The celebration of his life and funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 pm and will conclude with Military Honors.

I am so sad to hear of Tom’s passing. I have fond memories of him stopping in at Bill Sklba’s house and he how always made sure to talk to me and see how I was doing: and anytime I played the piano at St. Edwards he always made sure to greet me with a laugh and a smile. He meant the world to my stepfather Bill and the family.
Such a gem that will be missed!

Tom was so active at Horlick. I remember him when I was a student and eventually a staff member. He was compassionate, caring and also lent a helping hand. He supported all those around him. My condolences to the family.

Testimonials

February 20, 2019

Mike and his team did a fabulous job with the memorial service for our Mom. It was perfect and he made the process easy for me to go through during such a difficult time. She had chosen the funeral home before hand, and she made the right choice. The service was beautiful, simple, and sweet. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
