Service Details

There will be a time for relatives and friends to meet with family on December 14th from 10:00 a.m. until 12 O’clock Noon.

In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorials to Woof Gang Rescue,1906 Melvin Ave. Racine, WI 53404 or the Wisconsin Humane Society-Racine Campus 8900-16th St., Racine, Wi 53177

Vicki E. Wells, 69, of Mount Pleasant, passed away at the Aurora Zilber Family Hospice, in Milwaukee, on Thursday, November 28, 2024. She was born in Racine on June 6, 1955, the daughter of the late Russell Earl and Evelyn Viola Vivian (nee: Bates) Burks, Sr.

Vicki was a graduate of Washington Park High School, class of ’73. On May 13,1988, she was united in marriage to Carl A. Wells. Vicki was a lifetime resident of Racine. She enjoyed gardening, collecting snowmen and cardinals, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Vicki loved the Christmas Season.

Surviving are her husband, Carl; her son and daughter-in-law, Mathew and Sarah Holmquist, of Sturtevant, her grandson, Jackson Holmquist, and her special little guys London and Ro; brothers and sister-in-law, Russell “Rusty” and Kathy Burks, of Union Grove, and Richard Burks, of Evansville, IN, sister, and brother-in-law, Janet and William Lawrey, of Duluth, MN; and sister-in-law, Kim Sieverkropp, of Racine,  and nieces, Stephanie Burks, Megan (Jaspher) Carranza, and Teresa Henton. She also leaves her “Furry Baby” Chili. In addition to her parents, Vicki was preceded in death by her brother, Ken Burks.

The family would like to thank the Aurora Zilber Family Hospice and the Aurora Cancer Center for the loving care given to Vicki and her family.
