Kristen Manderfield passed away peacefully in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on October 20, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with addiction. Though she fought hard at times to overcome her struggles, the pain of her past was a heavy burden she could not fully escape.
She was born in Kenosha on Christmas Day 1985, the daughter of the late John T. and MaryJane (nee: Hansche) Melander.
Kristen loved fiercely — often more than she loved herself. She had a generous heart, a sharp wit, and a warm sense of humor that instantly drew people in. Whether playing in her women’s softball league or a friendly family game, her competitive spirit was fierce. Kristen was curious, strong-willed, and deeply loyal to those she loved. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, her humor, and the light she brought into every room.
May her story inspire hope, compassion, understanding, and grace for others still fighting. It is through grace that her family finds peace today.
Surviving are her two sons, Mason Melander and Brody Manderfield, both of Racine; two brothers, James Melander, of Kenosha, and Johnny Melander, of Chippewa Falls; two nephews, Evan and Colton Melander; niece, Madison Melander; Constant friend and guardian Angel, Tammy Conforti; sister-in-law and friend, Marci (Jason) Bruley; former husband and friend, Marc (Rose) Manderfield. Kristen is also survived by a extremely large circle of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

I feel this pain, lost my only child to addiction. She left a beautiful son. I’m unable to explain why she’s gone now. Maybe when he’s older he’ll understand. His mother loved him so very much. But she was sick and died. Her spirit is always with him and us. God please give her boys some peace and understanding. Much love to the family.

You taught me so much. I wish you were going to be here to finish bringing our dream to life. But when the foundation gets its building, I’m naming it in memory of you. I hope you knew in your heart that I was never far away nor will I ever be. I love you so much.
