Memorial Suggestions

In lieu of flowers and in memory of Sue, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Racine – On Tuesday March 12, 2024, Susan Turner, loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away at the age of 77. Susan was born on February 16, 1947, in Racine, to Arthur and Mary (née Peck) Greer.

Sue was a dedicated SC Johnson employee of 40 years who wouldn’t miss a chance at overtime. She was devoted to her faith, a parishioner at St. Edwards Church, and rarely missed attending services even while on vacation.

Sue was a beautiful lady who had a quiet strength and a positive influence on many.

Sue had impeccable taste in home décor and clothing – always looking sharp. She kept an incredibly clean home and beautiful garden. She liked bowling, golf, and was an avid shopper.

Sue was committed to her husband and family. Sue and Pete celebrated 50 years of marriage before his passing. Monday night tacos, a tradition she carried on from her mother, was something to look forward to for family and close friends.

Sue and Pete had many friends, enjoying Christmas brunches, Harbor Lite Yacht Club events, and Tichigan Lake parties. They annually met with friends at Fence Lake and with other snowbirds in Florida.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Mary; dear husband; Pete Turner; sister; Marianne Hall; and son-in-law, Bryan Prochnow. She is survived by her brother William Greer (Karen), sister Peggy Klokow (Sue); children Tom Turner (Mera), Scott Turner (Karla), Marcy Prochnow; and grandchildren Bryanna Prochnow, Turner Prochnow, Grace Turner, and Jo Jo.

The celebration of Sue’s life will be held at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Thursday March 21, 2024. Visitation hours are 11:00AM-1:00PM and services at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Sue, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

“A Letter From Heaven”

When tomorrow starts without me, and I’m not here to see,

If the sun should rise and find your eyes, filled with tears for me.

I wish so much you wouldn’t cry, the way you did today,

While thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say.

I know how much you love me, as much I love you,

And each time you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too.

When tomorrow starts without me, I don’t think we’re far apart,

for every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart.

Sue’s little quiet giggle will always remain in our hearts and minds. As hard as Gus tried he never did get Sue to ride on our boat so when we meet again I can guarantee he will try to convince Sue that the water is flat so we can go for a ride and Sue will giggle and say not today. We are in Florida and will not be able to help celebrate Sue’s life, but you are in our thoughts and prayers

Sue leaves us with many good memories. At an early age, she showed tremendous grace and that continued throughout her life. Grateful for her life as she taught us much. Rest peacefully dear lady. We hold your memory dear now and forever.

I can’t even begin to list the many wonderful memories that I have of Sue, since I met her and over the years. I miss her every day. One memory I might mention though is playing Jenga with her at White Lake. She disagreed with the notion that the object of the game should be to make the next person topple the tower. She said we should work as a team to build as high a tower as we could, working as a team. That was Sue.

Sue was my best bowling buddy; maybe because we were both left handed. She will be missed by many. I send my sympathy to her family.

To the Turner and Greer family:
Tom and I were deeply saddened to learn of Sue’s passing.
A beautiful and gracious lady she was. In all aspects of her life, she was a kind, giving and loving person. We enjoyed spending time with her and Pete before and after we had the restaurant. We looked forward to seeing them walk in the door on weekends and for Packer games. To watch Pete and Blanca banter back and forth have her many, many laughs because it was a rare moment that he could get one over on Blanca.
They will now take care of their families from above. We will miss all the love and laughter we shared with them.

Testimonials

December 18, 2024

Words cannot even begin to express the tremendous gratitude our family has for a team like the one at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home & Crematory. Thank you for the gentle lovely care over our mother Delia (Rosa) Balderas. Never having had a direct experience with a funeral home to this extent we didn’t know what to expect. We didn’t have a clue that they would step right in and have the most comforting team surrounding us that thought of ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING for anyone in our position. It was very evident from the first discussion on the phone that they were already well prepared to handle every little detail for us that we weren’t even aware would be required. Mark and his team truly eased so much of the unknown worries right out of our path, and left room for us to just focus on the small personal details we wanted for our mom. It was nice to know that all cost involved was in black and white on their site as well as on paper at our first meeting. Leaving no room for question or doubt what so ever with any fee involved. It was truly a blessing to have everything written out so well and simplified with various price range options in a time that we needed crystal clear direction. Its been beautiful to see that their care and service didn’t stop after our mom’s service came to an end. They continue to be in communication with immediate responses as questions arise along the way. God bless Mark, and the entire compassionate team, to be around to guide many many more for generations to come through life’s most difficult times. You are all truly amazing.
