
Racine – Ammie Lee McGee, 82, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at HCR Manor Care in Kenosha. She was born in Mississippi on October 11, 1932, daughter of the late Roosevelt and Louberta (nee: Quinn) Williams.
Ammie will be remembered as very loving mother who always put her family #1. Her children were attentive to her wisdom and advice, and they will now pass it on to their children and grandchildren. She enjoyed working, yard sales, cooking, eating, telling jokes and playing practical jokes on people, and spending time with family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Mary Ann (Billy)Jones, Garrick McGee, Faye McGee, Belinda (Tyrone Brooks)McGee, Brenda (Jeffrey)Person, Dennis McGee, Danny McGee, and Michael McGee; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a special nephew Robert Morgan, other relatives and friends, including her brother and sisters, Talmedge, Dora, Frieda, Annie Bell, Estelle, Mammie, Ella, Thelma, and Augustine. She was also preceded in death by her former husband Samuel McGee; longtime friend and companion Eddie Lee Johnson; her children, Diane Davis, Samuel McGee Jr., Marvin McGee, and Sally McGee; her grandson Silas Woods; her sisters, Mary and Minnie; her and her aunt Mattie.
The Homegoing Service for Ammie will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Buddy Vinson officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Viewing and visitation will begin in the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Memorials to Community Care, or to Society's Assets have been suggested.
