Service Details

Visitation for Avery will be at the funeral home on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 10:00AM until 12:00PM when relatives and friends may gather to share their love and support.

Racine – Avery Tyrone Stewart, AKA “Rerun” passed away on January 1, 2023 at his bar, Rerun’s Lounge.

Avery was born in Memphis, TN on August 7, 1956 to Evelyn Brown and Noble Owens. Avery accepted Christ at a young age. He attended Lester Elementary School through 6th grade and Lester Jr. High School through 10th grade. Avery graduated from East High School in 1974. He was very athletic, playing football, basketball, baseball and running track. Avery joined the U.S. Army out of high school. After moving to Racine, Avery worked at JI Case, Harris Metals, Western Publishing Company and the Juvenile Detention Center, where the kids lovingly gave him the nickname “Old School”. Avery was a member of a group called Men On The Move Club, which gave Christmas toys to under privileged children. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge. Avery leaves to cherish his memories, wife, Sharon Stewart; son, Tyrence; daughters, Nikova, Shauna and Quinaysha, all of Racine; 11 grandchildren, Montavius, Akem, Rayshun, Averiana, Avery, Kamri, Kierra, Mekhi, Mia, Tyrese, Tiana, Quinten and Quintavious; 7 great-grandchildren, Darius, Amir, Aubrey, Khylie, Kaiden, Major and Asaad; brother, Carl Stewart; sisters, Latisha of Racine, Christine (Rene) of Kent, WA and Regina (Victor) Collins of Memphis, TN; mother-in-law, Mamie Crawford of Racine; aunts, Georgia Brown of Racine and Barbra Yarbrough of Brownsville, TX; uncle, James Stewart of Las Vegas, NV; and a host of other relatives and friends. The family wants to thank his good friend, Dwight Moore, who Avery loved like a brother, for all his kind deeds. Avery was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Brown; his father, Noble Owens; daughter, Lakiesha; great-grandson, Akai; brother, Anthony Brown; and sister, Sheila Brown.

Avery was a pillar of his community and a well known DJ before getting into the bar business, which he enjoyed for over 20 years. He loved being a bar owner because he enjoyed entertaining people and providing a place for them to have a good time. Avery passed away doing what he loved.

Visitation for Avery will be at the funeral home on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 10:00AM until 12:00PM when relatives and friends will share their stories and memories of Avery.
