Betty Jane Krewal

May 5, 1927 – Mar 1, 2010

Betty Jane Krewal, 82, passed away in Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare- All Saints on Monday, March 1, 2010. She was born in Racine on May 5, 1927 the daughter of the late Christian and Martha (nee: Keoller) Andersen. On September 20, 1947, in Epiphany Lutheran Church, she was united in marriage to Stephen Krewal, who preceded her in death on April 20, 2002. Betty had been an LPN for the Lincoln Lutheran facilities. She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, and participated in the church Sewing Circle and Mission Guild. Betty was formerly a longtime member of Epiphany Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing the organ, working crossword puzzles, and an avid Cub fan. Betty loved her grandchildren, being with people, and life in general. She touched so many people and was touched by them as well. Surviving are her children, Craig (Linda) Krewal, Carolyn (Kenneth) Melster, all of Racine, and James Krewal; 8 grandchildren, Daniel (Julie), David (Sara), Sarah, James Jr. (fiancée, Molly), Melissa, Amber, Adam, and Eric, and sister-in-law Marilyn Andersen, of Racine. Betty is furthered survived by her nieces, nephews, other relatives, church families, and a host of friends. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Betty was preceded in death by her brother Norman Andersen. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. John Roeckle and Rev. Aaron Dolan officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Private burial will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. The family has suggested memorials to First Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Wisconsin Lutheran School or Shoreland Lutheran High School.
