
RACINE – Mrs. Betty Jane St. Thomas, 80, died at. Hospice Alliance. in Pleasant Prairie on Wednesday, June 16, 2010.
She was born in Hollandale, WI on December 4, 1929, the daughter of the late Robert Strommen and Esther (Strommen )Ratshinske (nee: Lardahl). She graduated from William H. Horlick High School. On January 19, 1948, she married the love of her life, Joseph G. St. Thomas.
Mrs. St. Thomas retired from the U.S Postal Service. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband of 62 years, Joseph, her survivors include her children, Joseph B. (Nancy) St. Thomas of Burlington, Vickie (Thomas) Schoeppe, Susan St. Thomas-Schoeppe both of Racine, Dorothy (Dennis) Jarstad of Naples, FL; grandchildren, Joseph St. Thomas, Scott (Karla) St. Thomas, Eric Schoeppe, Kevin (Elizabeth) Schoeppe, Timothy (Tami) Schoeppe,
Heather Schoeppe and Heidi Schoeppe; great grandchildren, Jade and Parker St. Thomas and
Kyle Schoeppe; brother and sisters, Robert (Berdella) Strommen of Rockford, IL, Ruth Fox, Shirley Recupero, Dorothy (Frank) Fumo all of Racine, Evelyn Joslin of Birchwood, WI; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives. Mrs. St. Thomas was also preceded in death by her brother, Alger Strommen; infant sisters, Darlene Jeanette and Norma Jean and brothers-in-law, William Fox, Tony Recupero and Art Joslin.
The celebration of her life and funeral mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church (6400 Spring St.) on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. William Dietzler officiating. Her entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum in Caledonia. There will be a visitation in the church on Wednesday from 1- 2 pm. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Alliance, Inc. – Hospice House, 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd. Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158.
