Racine- Beverly Jean (nee: Nordquist) Jensen, age 83, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Wednesday, November 28, 2012.

Beverly was born in South Dakota on March 12, 1929 to the late Louie and Daisy (nee: Saeger) Nordquist. On November 23, 1946 she was united in marriage with Earl R. Jensen. They moved to Racine in 1955.

With a profound Christian faith, Beverly was a proud member of Faith Lutheran Church in Sturtevant. In recent years, she enjoyed visiting Potawatomi to gamble and play Bingo. Above all, Beverly loved and cherished being in the surroundings of her entire family….especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, Ken (Sue) Jensen of Texas, Connie (Paul) Gelmi of Sturtevant, Ed (Debra) Jensen of Bristol, Kathy (Brad) Pouliot of Racine; Julie (Steve) Simonsen and Amy (Gary Woodhull) Jensen, all of Sturtevant; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Bette) Nordquist; sister, Bonnie Aeoseph; sisters-in-law, Helen Tessman; Pearl, Beverly and Beth Nordquist; special friend, Irene Christman; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, on August 20, 2003; their beloved son, Dennis Jensen; sister, Dorothy (Adams) Chester; brothers, Harvey, Harold Jensen, Merle (Marion) and Elroy Nordquist; and brothers-in-law, Henry Aeoseph, Walter Tessman, Roy (Thelma) Jensen, Carl (Luella) Jensen and Walter (Dolly) Jensen.

Funeral services will be held in Faith Lutheran Church, 8500 Durand Avenue in Sturtevant, on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 2:30 pm with Rev. Jeffrey A. Mortenson officiating. A reception will follow. Visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 1:30 – 2:30 pm. Private interment will take place in Graceland Cemetery. In memory of Beverly, memorials to Faith Lutheran Church have been suggested.

A heartfelt note of thanks to Beverly’s granddaughter, Stevie Simonsen, for the compassionate care, never-ending love, and gift of time given to Grandma in her time of need.

To the entire Jensen Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I met your Mother, Grandmother many years ago, as I had worked with Earl for many years at Dumore. It certainly Is never easy to lose a loved one, but she will now re-join Earl, and all will be well. My best to all of you.

Testimonials

October 9, 2020

I would like to thank Mike Langendorf, Bill Althaus and the rest of the staff for the wonderful celebration of the life for my father Raymond L. Szymanski who was a WWII veteran. I especially appreciate how much you really listen and the questions you asked regarding who my father was and what he was all about. Those details showed up in every part of the service from the flowers, the music, the thank you’s, pictures, obituary, outdoor military honors, etc. etc. My father would have been so grateful for the way you honored his life. I also received phone calls from family and friends indicating how beautiful the service was in every way. You and your staff definitely go above and beyond. You treat everyone like family and your compassion is so genuine. There should be more people in the world just like all of you. No words can express our gratitude for all you have done for myself, my father and our family. Thank you so very much and may the Lord bless you and yours! Sincerely Terri Carls and the Szymanski Family
