
Richmond, VA – Beverly M. Leonard, 80, formerly of Racine, got on the train for Glory and is now rejoicing with her Lord in Heaven, as she passed from this life on October 25, 2009 at Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond, VA.
Beverly was born in Waukesha, WI on August 22, 1929 to the late Rodger and Grace (nee: Medhurst) Bolter. A graduate of Washington Park High School, she went on to proudly earn an Associates Degree in accounting from Gateway Technical College. She lived her entire life in Racine until moving to Richmond, VA in 2007. With a profound faith in God, she had attended Racine Assembly of God. Beverly was a passionate sports fan and loved nothing more than being in the surroundings of her entire family.
Surviving are her children, Floyd “Skip” (Julia) Leonard of Racine; Pamela Leonard of Richmond, VA; and Rick (Kathleen) Leonard of Racine; grandchildren, Rebecca, Bret, Chad, Chase and Cody Leonard; great-grandchildren, Jaylyn, Nicholas, Darin and Autumn; sister, Marjorie (Michael) Kemen; brothers, Chester and Rodger (Wendy) Bolter; sister-in-law, Laura Bolter; nieces, nephews, other relatives and family friends. In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Bolter; and sister-in-law, Lois Bolter.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday from 8:30-10:30 am. In honor of Beverly’s love for animals, memorials to HOPE Safehouse has been suggested.
